At 5895m, Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest peak in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Often called the Roof of Africa, as you can imagine, the views from the top are spectacular not to mention the views on the way up to summit. With stunning views across to the Amboseli National Park in Kenya, the Rift Valley and the Maasai Steppe, Kilimanjaro remains a highlight with many visitors to Tanzania and with six routes to choose from, you’ll be sure to find one to suit your requirements.
Nestled at the foot of Kilimanjaro is the market town of Moshi. Very different in look and feel to Arusha, Moshi offers an insight into a developing Tanzania keen to introduce themselves to the world and is definitely well worth a visit, even if only for the local markets!
